According to the estimations of Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders, the production of cars across the UK has increased by nearly 54%, to 104,365, throughout May. The number is 62.6%, as compared to that a year earlier.
The net output of commercial vehicles has also risen by 129% to 10,745, as compared to the figures obtained in May 2009.
The increment has come as a relaxation amid the fears of the recession looming large in the British economy.
During the month, the engine production sector reported a 35.9%, with the increment 40%, compared to the number in May 2009.
According to the society, the recovery has been continuing since the last 6 months, consecutively. The increment in the sales, reported last month, shows the relative weakness, which the sector witnessed in the same month, last year.
Paul Everitt, SMMT Chief Executive, said the production in the commercial vehicles reported to have doubled in comparison with that in 2009.
"There is concern that fiscal consolidation across Europe may impact demand in the months ahead", said Mr. Everett.
He further said that upcoming budget session will help in boosting the confidence of the consumers and the producers, thereby enhancing the skills of the workers.
