The fundraising event for the breast cancer patients, initiated by Kim Wilson, saw a number of women wearing pink, on Thursday.
The women gathered at downtown Howell, marking the second Pink Party. Kim initiated the event after the death of her mother, last year.
The event saw the sale of as many as 900 tickets in last year’s event, with the number nearing the double, this year.
The exact amount generated after the event hasn’t been disclosed, as of now. However, the press time officials have assured the figures to go much beyond last year’s $30,000 mark.
Owner of Carriage House Designs in downtown Howell, Wilson, said the event is a great endeavor.
"The community involvement is really a lot of fun, and that's one of the most amazing things about it. It's great to see all those pink shirts walking downtown", he said.
The keynote address was delivered by Becky Cwiek, President of the Michigan Breast Cancer Coalition, at the Pink Party.
Cwiek is herself a breast cancer survivor. She was diagnosed with the disease 10 years back.
She said that the disease is more of a battle. The tickets for the Pink Party were available at $25 per head.
