Legal Action against Bradford Royal Infirmary

Laura Garner, a teenage hairdresser, went to the hospital, due to the pain caused by a minor back injury, and after 24 hours in the hospital she died. Ms. Garner was admitted in Bradford Royal Infirmary.

Laura’s mother asked the doctors to stay with her daughter in the hospital, but her request was refused. After few hours, the hospital staff called her up and told that her daughter had died.

Laura’s parents have filled a legal action against Bradford Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. The legal action has stated that there was a failure in the treatment given by the hospital staff to their daughter.

Laura’s lawyer, Daniel Hilton, said, "Laura's tragic death occurred after a catalogue of failures in respect of her care following her admission to Bradford Royal Infirmary”.

According to him, the hospital reports have also shown that the hospital could not perform well in the basic procedures of diagnosis, investigation and treatment.

The spokesman of the trust has said that the Foundation trust had examined the conditions of the case, and it informed Laura’s parents about all the results of the investigation. He had apologized to her parents and pledged to take the essential actions, required.
