Cancer Survivor Nancy Volunteers to Counsel Other Cancer Patients

Nancy Burns is a cancer survivor, who aims at helping other people cope up with the fatal disease.

Her world was shattered when she was diagnosed with this disease. She had to undergo exhausting sessions of chemotherapy. But now, the 47-year-old has successfully recovered from cancer.

She encountered a lot of problems while going through the disease just like any other cancer patient. She now hopes to help other people who are fighting with it. She is of the view that her experience will prove instrumental in helping other people who go through a lot of physical and emotional turmoil.

According to her it is very essential that a cancer patient gets adequate emotional support as the disease takes a toll on a person’s health as well as emotions.

She devotes her spare time in working for Macmillan Easterhouse Information and Support Service. This service is organized at the Bridge library in Easterhouse. Nancy disclosed that she is happy to help other people as she listens to their problems and counsels them.

She further added that some visitors can discuss their woes with her without hesitation, as they know that she had faced a similar situation.
