Sony's new range of the NEX cameras has aroused immense excitement in the market. It has been loaded with a digital-SLR quality, being monitored in a relatively smaller and more compact size.
NEX-5's 14.2-megapixel resolution allows it to differentiate itself from its rivals.
It has been priced at £550, carrying an 18-55mm kit lens. It is also available with a 16mm fixed-focal-length lens, which is cheaper by nearly £50.
Although, the 16mm is relatively smaller, its focal length of 24mm is wide enough to allow full resolution. This makes the 18-55mm lens all the more acceptable.
The size of the camera is surprisingly short. Despite being equipped with 18-55mm lens, it is slim and short. The Company has been credited with the ultra small packaging.
The outer body of the camera is coated with aluminum alloys, giving it a decent, as well as, a sophisticated look.
The latest range carries all the features of its typical cyber shot camera, including the most striking feature, i. e., the 'sweep panorama' mode.
In addition, the 'handheld twilight' allows a range of continuous shots taken in one go.
The camera's picture quality is too promising.
