Belleville to Improve Wait Time and Treatments with Funds

Bellevile hospital is facing the problem of handling the increasing number of patients. Belleville general is the only known place under quinte health care, which allows an extended period for staying in the emergency rooms against the provincial targets.

It is known that the current stay length for an emergency room patient with complex medical troubles, on an average was just over eight and a half hours. The patients confronting lesser serious conditions can stay in the room for six hours.

With the "pay for results" funding program worth half a million dollars, the hospitals will be granted additional aid for improving patient wait and treatment times. For continuing the pace of the cash flow, the prerequisite is a 10% decrease in the waiting times.

Along with the funding, the front line workers of the hospital including doctors, nurses and other medical practitioners, will bring about the main required change. Also, the hospital is planning to launch some projects for elevating the standard of quinte health care.

The impact of the funds and the internal efforts of the hospital staff will be seen in better care, for the emergency and general departments.

Belleville general among the 30 hospitals that qualify for the recent phase of the pay for results program that aims to provide “efficient health care, and more satisfaction for the patients”.
