Autistic Boy Found Safe after Efforts of Police and Neighbors

Wyatt, an autistic boy went away from his home in Westmount, before 7 a. m. His parents, Bill and Jayne started looking for him, just after they found him missing.

His parents looked for an hour for their son and then they reported to police.

Wyatt’s father told about his child’s problem of Asperger’s disorder, a form of autism. In this form of autism, a kid is extremely hyperactive.

The Cape Breton Regional Police found the kid and handed him over to his parents. Wyatt, with his family has shifted to Westmount, recently. Police and neighbors looked collectively for the missing kid.

In the local community, an autistic kid died after he lost his way to the house. Local Autism Society after that incident organized some workshops explaining about autism to the local police, security personnel and other people who are related with the law enforcement.

Autism Canada Foundation website has said that the children with this disorder tend to be weak in social behaviors and have repetitive manners; however, this disorder does not cause the slow language skills and mental development.

Wyatt’s father Bill told that autistic kids sometimes run away, if they think that they are in some difficult situation. He said that in order to deal with such kids, it’s very important to learn about the disease.
