Food Chains Remove Chicken Products over Salmonella Concerns

Food chains across the US are pulling down all Marie Callender's Cheesy Chicken and Rice single-serve frozen products from their shelves. This is done after fears that these products may lead to potential salmonella contamination.

ConAgra Foods Inc., the Company who manufactures these products has already offered to recall all the products from the market.

The Company has already been informed by the U. S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention for a possible link between people, who were infected with salmonella bacteria and its products.

It has also confirmed that it has about 100,000 cases of its product in the market and every case has almost 8 packages.

The U. S. Department of Agriculture's Food Safety and Inspection Service have also confirmed that the study by the U. S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention found only eight people, who became ill after consuming these products. It had probed 29 people in 14 states across the country, as part of its investigation.
