Cancer May Not Be Diagnosed in 20% of the Cases

It has been found that in almost 20% of cancer cases, mammograms fail to detect the condition and the news has been confirmed by doctors, as well as, the health experts. But this news has surprised a lot of people and those who are suffering from them.

They argue that a patient has a basic right to know about their condition and no one would feel good if they know that they are carrying a dangerous thing.

But a statement by Cancer Care Ontario (CCO) has maintained that even in best cases,    mammography can only detect between 80 to 85% of the cancer patients. There is a margin of error and most of the doctors already know this thing.

But most of the women are not aware that a clean mammogram test does not ensure that they are not carrying a cancer. It was argued that more and more people women to be made aware about this fact.

Health experts also feel that it is very critical to raise the awareness levels of people about this. It is pointed that many lives can be saved by increasing awareness.

It is also very important for patients who have been declared cancer free by their doctors to get themselves tested regularly. A cancer can develop again after some time in a patient, who has been cleared by their doctor.
