Swine Flu Makes a Comeback

Swine flu is making a comeback and has already claimed 17 lives in Kerala, this year. Two people lost their lives due to swine flu in Udupi last month.

Health authorities have already taken steps to deal with the infection and are trying to create more awareness among the people. 

The increasing heat has seen more and more people in the city of Bangalore ready to get vaccinated against swine flu. People want to protect themselves from the infection by getting vaccinated. But health experts feel that the vaccine is not recommended for use by the general public. 

The swine flu infection mainly spreads through close contact with affected people and severely impacts the respiratory system. People are advised to follow simple preventive measures like maintaining proper hygiene, washing hands regularly apart from staying away from people who are affected with swine flu. It is also very important to seek immediate medical help in case any of the symptoms are witnessed by someone.       

Most of the medical workers including doctors have already got themselves vaccinated with the swine flu virus. People who travel frequently are also advised to get themselves vaccinated with swine flu vaccine.

The young children and pregnant women are at an increased risk for this illness. People with existing medical condition and weak immunity are also advised to get themselves immunized.
