Michael J. Fox Donates Money to the Research of Victoria Parkinson

It has been reported that Victoria biopharmaceutical Company received something really huge in the form of a donation from Michael J. Fox on Tuesday.

The famous actor, best known for his performance in Back to the Future donated a huge $2.1 million towards the Victoria Parkinson’s research. The donation was made through his foundation, the Michael J. Fox Foundation and it is a very interesting fact that the actor was diagnosed in the year 1991 with Parkinson’s disease, a disorder which affects the nervous system, completely.

The donation was made for increasing the research in the line of Parkinson’s disease and it was a part of a $4.6 million donation for supporting the studies going on with the neurotrophic factor therapies for the disease.

It has also been reported that the foundation has donated more than $179 million towards the research, ever since the year 2000, when it started.

It is believed that the neurotrophic therapies would actually bring about a cure for the disease instead of just for the symptoms and that would mean saving a lot of lives.
