BPI asks Google to seize the illegal download links

The governing body of the UK music industry, the British Phonographic Industry (BPI), has asked Google to remove links of approximately nine file-sharing websites containing illegal download links to thousands of songs.

Google nitpicks that BPI highlighted 38 links which are available via its search engine, directing users to copyrighted music owned by BPI members. It basically concerns to users with songs such as K'Naan's Wavin' Flag and Michael Bublé's Haven't Met You Yet hosted on websites like MegaUpload, UserShare and SendSpace.

In addition to this BPI further stated that other such search queries also led to websites that breached UK copyright laws. The search queries include "dizzee rascal dirtee disco" and "k'naan wavin' flag download".

It was further reported by, BPI spokesman Adam Liversage : "In most cases, Google takes down the links in question, following its own internal procedures."
