Teens Arrested for Cybercrime in the UK

According to a recent report, the police have taken some youngsters into custody, as it suspects that they are members of a gang involved in cybercrime. The suspects are of the age of 18 years and 17 years.

The gang has been accused of stealing official information from the credit cards, which are used online. The Police Central e-Crime Unit (PCeU) and the Scotland Yard revealed that the youths were engaged in one of the biggest online cyber criminal forum, which is English based. They are also accused of breaching the Computer Misuse Act.

It is believed that there group involves more than 8,000 members, who are engaged in selling malware, giving tutorials in regard to cybercrime and stealing private information like passwords, bank details, account numbers and PINs.

Detective Chief Inspector of the PCeU, Terry Wilson, revealed that the arrests are a part of their growing attempts to fight against online crime and decrease harm to UK's citizens and economy.

The Malware kits, which were sold on the forum, included the password-stealing Zeus Trojan. Also, compromised information from computers infected with the Zeus bot, was sold.

The forum also comprises of an administrator, who purportedly fashioned and controls the site, including membership status.
