Yesterday, City College Norwich has celebrated national day for the recognition of vocational qualifications.
The college also held its VQ Day Employer Awards 2010 to rejoice not only the vocational success of its students, but also the employers who helped them to achieve this.
People from big business Corporations across the city and beyond were requested to attend the event of awards ceremony at The Forum, Millennium Plain, Norwich.
The main purpose of the event celebrated by the college was to the underline the significance of the employers, who play a very important and essential role in supporting the vocational qualifications and who have made an extraordinary contribution for facilitating vocational learning.
After the nominations made by the college's Employer Partnerships Team, Six of the nine awards at the event went to employers.
"This was a really important day for us. We're celebrating VQ Day at the college to celebrate the employers as much as the students. We couldn't do vocational qualifications without you", said Corrienne Peasgood, Vice Principal of Student Services and Partnerships at the Ipswich Road-based College.
A spokesman for the college said that the head of the various big Companies helped them in multiple ways like providing training programs and skills for students. They have also offered apprenticeships and work placements to the college students.
