DSG, the leading electrical equipment retailer, which had changed its title to DSG International in 2005, has proclaimed that it will change its name for the second time, making it Dixons Retail.
This has been done as the Company realized that its name is not being used after it was changed in 2005. The same year saw the retail stores of the Company being named as Currys.
It clarified that the stores will continue with the same name. John Browett, Chief Executive, will be considering the opinion of the shareholders in the name changing.
He told that the Company had attained pre-tax profits worth £112.7m full-year, rising against £123.6m in the previous year.
He added that the payment to the shareholders will be made in next few weeks.
The profits are resultant of restoration of the retail chain coupled with reduction in the stakes. Its net Revenue surged 3% to £8.53bn. Meanwhile, like-for-like sales rose by 2%.
The operating gains across Britain and Ireland surged 21pc to £71.1m.
“Group profitability will continue to improve. Sales of televisions have increased 50pc in the UK over the last six weeks because of the World Cup”, said Mr. Browett.
