A recent research has claimed that intake of at least five cups of coffee every day can reduce the risk of mouth cancer development.
It said that those, who are addicted to coffee, are less prone to cancer in the mouth or throat, in contrast with those, who don’t drink coffee at all.
University of Utah researchers claimed that coffee comprises nearly 1000 chemical including antioxidants. They observed the contribution of caffeine in reducing cancer risk was the minimum. This was concluded on the basis of the nullified effect of tea drinking in reduction of mouth cancer.
Meanwhile, the researchers found that cafestol and kahweol, the kley ingredients in coffee, were the major activators in cutting the mouth cancer risk. The two chemicals carry anti–cancer functions.
Chief Executive of the British Dental Health Foundation, Dr. Nigel Carter, said that coffee is being avoided by a number of people, as it increases risks including blood pressure.
But, the current study found a number of profits associated with coffee intake, he said.
The report concluded that those who drink coffee at least 5 times a day are reduced risk of developing any form of cancer. It added that the risk reduces with each cup of coffee taken.
