Microsoft has been taken to court by Salesforce.com over patent violation charges. Microsoft had also filed a case against Salesforce.com over the usage of intellectual property, last month. The latest case is thought as a result of the earlier suit filed by Microsoft.

According to the complaint filed by Salesforce.com in the U.S. District Court for the District of Delaware, various products, which are being used by Microsoft that include .NET platform and SharePoint collaboration software, are a breach of Salesforce.com patents. The complaint als accuses Microsoft of deliberately violating these patents.

The legal team of Slaesforce.com also includes the prominent lawyer, David Boies. He is famous for his role in the U.S. Government’s antitrust ruling against Microsoft. Apart from this case, David is also representing Oracle in its case against SAP.

On the other hand, according to an earlier compliant filed by Microsoft against Salesforce.com, it alleges that nine of its patents are being infringed upon by Slaesforce.com.

The CEO of Salesforce.com, Marc Benioff severely criticized the actions of Microsoft and also, called it a thug and patent thief. He also hoped the dispute would be resolved soon and does not have a big impact on the business of both the Companies.

Both these Companies are among the latest in the technology sector, to take each other to the court. Apple and HTC are also battling each other in the court and almost 12 other Companies are also fighting it out in the courts.
