Music players may lead to hearing impairment

According to recent study listening to music can prove to be detrimental for ears.

The ongoing trend of continuous listening to mp3 players or the phones with music system for more than an hour may result in hearing impairment.

As stated by the researcher at Ghent University, Hannah Kempler the over exposure of noise may result in noise-induced hearing loss.

This exposure level when multiplied or continued for a longer duration can lead metabolic and/or mechanical effects that can tamper with the structural elements of the organ of Corti, the inner ear.

The damage pertains to the acoustics that cause a vulnerable situation for the ear drums.

The study required the participants to test for the hearing impairment and asked to listen to a pop or rock music for the six hours with pre-set volumes in 14 individuals that gave the aforementioned results.
