The first hurricane storm in the Atlantic named Alex has hit the clean up efforts of BP for the oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico.
The hurricane Alex has upgraded from a tropical storm status in late last night and is now expected to hit the coasts of Mexico and Texas later on today. This storm is expected to stop the clean up efforts for next several days to come.
The hurricane has created waves of 12ft of height. It will delay the plans to implement a new system to capture more oil from the blown out well.
Earlier the oil giant BP has announced that the storm Alex can hamper the clean up efforts of the company at the accident spot. BP has ordered to stop the controlled burns of crude on the surface of the oil, booming operations and flights spraying dispersant chemicals due to the horrible storm and bad weather.
It has been apprehended that there may be 15 to 30cm of rain in the north-eastern Mexico and Southern Texas due to the hurricane.
