Cancer patient Ann Reynar died at her Leduc residence on Thursday, after receiving treatment at Alberta Health Services, from the healthcare Chief Stephen Duckett.
As per the sources, she kept waiting for long, succumbing to the discomfort caused due to the disease.
The 66-year-old was diagnosed with colon cancer May 3 and kept waiting for a further appointment at the Cross Cancer Institute. However, she didn't get any calls from the officials being dying.
Ann's husband, Wave Reynar, said, "I held her this morning and told her to let go and she did. She squeezed my hand and smiled at me".
The goof up made way at the medical center due to a shortage in the shortfall in the number of oncologists at the Cross and Tom Baker in Calgary.
The patients had been placed into two groups; those who were curable were placed in one group, while those who could survive for long without treatment, were placed in another category.
"I assure you, I will use your experience as a lesson for us. I will advise you in the next few months", wrote Duckett to Reynars.
