The soaring demand for large-screen LCD TVs is can be witnessed to show no sign of progressively decreasing with new research, speculating sales to touch 188 million globally by the close of the year.
Market research firm DisplaySearch has uncovered that it hopes that sales of all types of TVs will touch 242million benchmark worldwide this year, marking a rise of 15% year-on-year. LCD TV sales will witness a robust growth of 29% for the year to touch a net 181million.
A study conducted recently suggested that China still bears the tag of the major LCD TV sales hub in the world, recording its shipments raised 35% year-on-year in 2010, however, this is lowered compared to the whopping 119% growth registered in 2009.
LED-backlit LCD TVs are speculated to touch sales of 37million for 2010, nearly 10 times the number sold in 2009.
Sales of LED-backlit models are augured to mark a rise 20% of total 2010 sales, according to DisplaySearch, however, it expects this figure to climb to 80% by 2014.
DisplaySearch witnesses its plasma sales climbing over 16million units this year, as consumer search for "bang for buck". Plasma TV prices can be witnessed to considerably lower, compared to current LED LCD models available in the market.
