2011 Subaru Forester Upgrades with Petrol Engine

Overseas launch of 2011 Subaru Forester was declared by Subaru, today, with an additional petrol engine, for non-turbo models including X and XS, and other equipment improvements. The engine has a bore/stroke dimensions with a longer stroke. Also, the revised version's 2.5 liter Boxer engine is a little elevated from 2457cc to 2498cc.

Also, the belt-driven single overhead cam has been substituted by a chain-driven double overhead cam. However, the mechanical advancements have been added, but ultimately the engine's 126kW power output is the same. Only the torque has been improved from 229 to 236Nm.

In the new version, the fuel use also experiences a slight upgradation from 9.0 l/100km on highway for the 2010 manual and auto models, to 8.7 l/100km for the latest manual and auto.

On the other hand, for the US market, the Forester XT Premium, which has the same turbo petrol engine, has been overhauled with 10-way power driver's seats, plus new standard audio system that has 3.5mm aux input. The additional features for the system, includes Bluetooth, hands-free and audio streaming, iPod and USB connectivity.

In addition to this, the new XT Premium is also loaded with new 17-inch alloy wheels, and for XT models, new body-colored roof spoiler has been added.
