The Queensland Public Sector Union is of the say that it is risky to modify the payroll system for police, ambulance and fire officers, after troubles were identified in the health payroll.
The QPSU says the Department of Community Safety was next in a row, to change to a new system, however, all payroll alterations have been frozen due to the Queensland Health problems.
A statement from the Auditor-General yesterday cautioned against probable problems with deception and other security issues, potentially having an effect on the pay systems across Government.
But the State Government says that there is still advantage in centralizing payroll systems, regardless of the troubles in Queensland Health.
In the preceding week, the Government said that it would divide health payroll services to neighboring hubs, following a vital report from the Auditor-General.
The Opposition says the Auditor-General's most recent report has exposed older and wider troubles than the health payroll disaster, with cautions going back to the year 2006.
QPSU state Secretary, Alex Scott says that its major fear is future changes to Government payroll systems. He says that the committee will meet the Government and hold talks regarding the usage of new software, in a number of other departments in the approaching time.
