JJB Sports, Sportswear retailer’s sales have climbed up in recent weeks, even though; England has made its exit out of the world cup.
On July 4, its sales rose to 22.3%, a significant high, as compared to last year.
It has even not been affected by the opening of new stores.
The profit margin of JJB has also improved on account of this. They have been increased to 43.9%.
JJB is the Wigan-based chain, which is a major seller of facsimile kits and has depended heavily on football tournaments to drive sales for many years. But it has been widening its focus to all major sporting events to reduce reliance on tournament years.
Though JJB's summer clearance sale started on July 1, which is 10 days later than the previous year, still there was a good business even then too.
After hitting by a stock crisis last year when suppliers became reluctant to deal with the firm, as it struggled with financial despair, it is doing great this year.
