British Airways Says New Mergers from Next Year

The merger of British Airways with Iberia is being pursued with former, saying that it will consider new merger as soon as next year.

The joint Company to be formed after the merger of the BA with the Spanish airlines will be named International Airlines Group (IACG). The deal is likely to get completed in the later-half of the current fiscal year.

BA boss Willie Walsh, said, “It will create a company capable of “scaling the business by either merging with other airlines or acquiring other airlines”.

He added that the endeavor of the company will be to utilize all options of available for the best deliverance of services.

Walsh avoided uttering any names for BA’s forthcoming mergers, however, it has been speculated that the company will consider Australia’s Qantas next for the merger.

He further told that BA might get pushed to develop from Madrid and not Heathrow, in case the UK Government fails in developing the infrastructure needed for meeting the rising air travel demands.

The new company will have to face immense competition initially, but after 2 decades, UK will have to depend on few of the airlines for air travel.
