A ground-breaking project that has been co-led by people with learning disabilities has been launched, so as to help the province's disabled populace get into the place of work.
The tactic, which comprises a new DVD that has been created by people with disabilities, intends to help those who might have in the past been unnoticed by employers.
Officials at County Hall have the expectations that the project will help ease pressure on the welfare system, whilst offering disabled people the chance to have as equal opportunities as others.
Cllr. Graham Gibbens, who is a cabinet member for adult social care at Kent County Council, said that people with learning problems require this support.
He said that it would be a bright opportunity for all those disabled people to avail the chance and get to the place of work and this cannot be denied that for the past five years, the whole society has offered a lot of support to achieve this.
People with learning disabilities must not be subjected to a life on benefits. They ought to be given equivalent life chances, so that even they get a chance to display their talents.
The DVD, custom-built by the Jobs Action Group and made with support from Kent Supported Employment and the Skillnet Group, forms division of a draft plan giving disabled people authentic chances to live the life as they desire.
