According to the Maryland Department of Health and Mental Hygiene, two more state residents died due to record breaking high summer temperatures.
The most recent report from the Maryland Office of the Chief Medical Examiner illustrates the total number of deaths associated to hyperthermia in Maryland to ten.
The latest high temperature related sufferers are a Baltimore City senior above 65, who passed away within the last week, and a Prince George's county senior who passed away in June.
Both the victims had severe underlying health circumstances and were found inside their homes without air conditioning and it was also found that their room temperatures were above 90 degrees.
"As temperatures continue to raise above 90 degrees day after day, our monitoring systems report the number of people with heat-related health issues are going to emergency rooms at ever increasing numbers as well," said Governor Martin O'Malley.
According to the forecasts, Peak temperatures are estimated to fall below 90 degrees on Saturday. People are advised to shun complacency in dealing with the high temperature, as daytime temperature is going to increase again on Sunday.
Cooling Centers and services have been occupied by local health, senior services agencies and emergencies throughout Maryland, during the warmest days of 2010.
