Cisco, EMC, VMware join hands

Reports coming from the Virtual Computing Environment coalition (VCE), a joint venture between network giant Cisco and virtualisation software maker VMware and network storage provider EMC, have agreed to work hands in glove with the first European customer for its first ever VBlock product, claims the IT news website The Register.

UK based service provider Cobweb Services claims of acquiring the VBlock 1 from system integrator firm MTI. Report coming from Cobweb CEO Paul Hannam, through a statement claimed that the Vblock platform and the association with EMC, MTI, VMware and Cisco enable Cobweb to expand its business wings.

He further stated the Cobweb was developing a portfolio of cloud-based products for its customers in Europe.

Meanwhile the purchase came soon after research and study by the IT services provider.

The VBlock product line integrates with Cisco UCS servers, EMC storage, VMware hypervisor and Cisco networking solutions all coming into a single, comprehensive system.
