A new Sync desktop client released by HTC is allowing the users of HTC Aria Smartphone to download third party apps on their device.
The users just have to connect the device to the computer and its gets sync automatically. The third party apps will be thorough a new application installer option. HTC Aria with the new update could define a new direction for the Android platform.
The HTC Sync update will now be available for download from HTC's support site. The update is meant only for PCs running on Microsoft's Windows XP, Windows Vista or Windows 7 and only for users who do not have Microsoft Exchange Server to sync with but only have Contacts and Calendar events in Outlook or Outlook Express.
Ironically AT&T has given explanation on its website why it won't allow users to download apps from outside the Android market. It says that it bans third party apps to guarantee the security to the users. However, critics say that the ban is to keep the competition out.
HTC Sync version 3.0.5372 lets you synchronize Outlook and Windows Address Book, Music, Photos, Bookmarks, Documents and Calendar events on your PC with your phone," noted the website of the handset maker.
The users need HTC Serial Number and then install any third party apps. When the phone is connected to the computer the Outlook and Outlook express are synchronized.
The users of HTC Aria will also be able to find the original shipping ROM for the device. The company said on its website that if the device has an error and cannot be recovered by Soft Resetting or Hard Resetting, it may be recovered by reloading the original ROM.
