Unilever logs on to Apple ad pad

Unilever has recently signed and even launched its first ad campaign on iAd, which is the latest Apple advertising platform which works on products like Apple's iPhone and iPad.

Unilever is the world's second largest advertiser and had an estimated ad expenditure of above $7 billion last year. For this current campaign, Unilever has signed a multi - million dollar deal as on this platform, the initial consumers of the iPhones and iPads are mostly higher income consumers who are sought after and prized by marketers.

It has been observed that 75% of iPhone customers are men and belong to the age group 18-44 years. This particular target audience is difficult to reach out to through traditional media like the television and magazines. This is where Unilever comes in with a hope to help reach out to as many consumers as possible across the world in order to help the mobile company grow.

Focus is also being put on India, China and Brazil as they have a sizeable number of iPods, iPhones and iPads buyers.

Besides Unilever, AT&T, General Electric, Best Buy, Nissan and Sears, etc. has also taken up the iAd platform.
