Gay Teenage Database Suffers Privacy Fears
Gay Teenage Database Suffers Privacy Fears

The sale of a database of one million users, catering to the needs of young homosexual boys, is said to violate the Federal law, says the Federal Commissioner.

Though, the matter is not a new one, yet it is able to grab a lot of attention from the lawmakers. The United States is witnessing a chain over the issue of the tenure of a gay teenagers' database.

In February 2010, the owner of this database, Peter Ian Cummings is said to have filed for liquidation.

Curt Hopkins expressed his concern over the matter saying that the sale of a public database meant selling of public information that had been accumulated keeping in mind the privacy concerns.

Hopkins further said that the whole plan was invalid as the information contained in the database was associated with the kids, who were currently dealing with sexual reality.

It was still better in the case of straight kids, but for homosexual kids, it was like a setback.

Simon Davies, Director of the human rights campaign group Privacy International asserted that once the firm went into receivership, all the expectations were set off.

He stated that the information had to be used for the same purpose as planned, and no alterations could be made.

Shoshanna Schiff, representing the creditors said, "Any property listed on the debtor's bankruptcy petition is property of the bankruptcy estate and my client intends to administer those assets for the benefit of creditors".
