The threat of the spread of flu in the region has been given by the New South Wales Health authorities. People are being advised to take precautionary moves. They have been told to get them vaccinated against the flu.
Dr. Kerry Chant, NSW Chief Health Officer stated that the advent of flu is not at peaks right now, but it is better to take flu vaccination before it gets late. He further added that it is expected that the effect of flu will aggravate in the coming weeks and they have already started seeing some patients affected by the same.
So, he advised people to take flu shots, so that they can remain safe. But for children under the age of five, vaccination is not recommended.
According to Mr. Chant, pregnant women are more likely to get attacked by the flu. So, they should hurry to get themselves vaccinated and shield their babies. The other risk groups are indigenous people, the obese and anyone suffering from grave medical conditions.
