Yoga Recommended for Reducing Obesity in US Soldiers by Horton

Tony Horton, the famous fitness guru declared his recent mission of making the army fit and obesity free. The prominent fitness trainer said that just like most of the civilians, people working in army are being grabbed by the trouble of being overweight and they do not exercise properly and are therefore, becoming less active.

It is known that Horton is aware of many things about the military services and the life style of military personals as he has worked with the US military at base and abroad as a model with them in his fitness program "P90x".

Horton has trained Usher, Sean Connery and Bruce Springsteen along with his fitness programs that he did with soldiers at military bases like Andrews Air Force Base and Fort Bragg.

For combating the problem of obesity in the ranks, Horton said there can be no better solution than "mind-soothing and body-bending yoga".

Tony Horton, 52, said while training about 200 people at the National Press Club in Washington that introducing yoga into the military troops is "an alien tad" thought.

Explaining the benefits of yoga further, he said that yoga is capable of multiplying the positive effects of strength and cardiovascular exercises and that it moistens the major joints and decreases the possibility of getting injuries.
