Pakistan refutes NSA's charge on Headley

David Coleman HeadleyPakistan had been getting linked with infamous Pakistani-American terrorist David Headley. However, Pakistan's Foreign Office denied such allegations on Tuesday saying that the National Security Advisor Shivshankar Menon's charge of such links is nothing but “baseless'' and is of no consequence.

Pakistan's Foreign Office has strongly refuted Menon's charge and allegations, and put out a statement against the accusations. Spokesman Abdul Basit has described the charge as yet another of India's occasional pointing - finger at Pakistan and that it is nothing but just a manifestation that the Indians are trying to establish.

Moreover, apart from all this, Abdul Basit has also drawn attention to the point that the allegation made by Shivshankar Menon is completely inconsistent with the agreement and understanding that had been reached upon by the leaders of the two nations of Indian and Pakistan at Thimpu, the capital of Bhutan.

The understanding had been that both India and Pakistan needed to address terrorism in a mutual and cooperative manner, since the issue is a common threat to both the countries.
