Google gets a makeover for image search

Google claims of a fresh image search function that pertains to updating the user interface and adding a host of new features making it a better experience for users.

According to the blog posted on Google the image search will now come along with an improved user interface that offers to see 1,000 images on the same page, scrollable at once, a figure more than the 985 displayed by Bing.

The blog post was stated: "We hope they not only make it easier to search for images, but also contribute to a better aesthetic experience. We see images as a major source of inspiration, a way of connecting the world—and their growth is showing no signs of slowing down."

Google claimed that this new feature will help cater the "instant scrolling" feature that comes with the image search, that has a content close to 10 billion images, considered to be much vast than the earlier 250 million images indexed when it was launched in 2001.

The images will have a thumbnail option and will offer users with a hover pane, that helps users view larger thumbnail preview of the image when 'hovering' above the image with their cursor, claims a source.
