Mobile Usage and Tinnitus are Associated

Experts adding to the negative impacts of mobile phones have said that excess usage of the device may develop the risk of tinnitus, as the ears are affected by the power of these mobile phones.

Due to tinnitus, a person has to face problems like ringing or roaring sound in the ears. Severe cases of tinnitus even lead to insomnia among 3% of the mobile phone users.

Experts have told that almost 10 to 15% of adults have constant tinnitus.

The study by these experts from Austria is based on 100 people. These people had problem of tinnitus. Nearly 27% of the people had problem in their right ear and 38% of them had it in the left ear. There were 35% people who were suffering from tinnitus in both their ears.

Authors from the University of Vienna have said that a person, who uses mobile for a period of four years, will more likely to face the risk of the disease by double.

They also said that more than 10 minutes of usage of the device develops the risk of tinnitus by 71%.

These experts are of the view that the highly spread tinnitus is of great concern for public health.

The research published in the journal of Occupational and Environmental Medicine has however, failed to convince the British Tinnitus Association with its findings.
