In a letter released Monday, actor John Travolta and wife Kelly Preston, thanking all Ocala, Florida residents for their sympathy and kind condolences following their son's death in the Bahamas, also asked them to treat all friends and loved `like there was no tomorrow'.

The Travoltas, who live in a sprawling $8-million home on Jumbolair Aviation Estates, a luxury sub-division with its own airstrip in Ocala , held a memorial service for their son, Jett Travolta, 16, who died of a seizure attack at the family vacation home in Grand Bahama , earlier this month.

The letter sent via e-mail by their lawyer, Michael McDermott reads: `What we have experienced in Ocala transcends neighborly civility. We have been treated as family. Although, we lost a good part of the joy and radiance of our family, your embracing us as a member of your own has helped us to contend with our loss.'

The letter, ending `Love John, Kelly and Ella', also imparts some word of advice, saying: `In parting, we want all of you to cherish your loved ones and your friends like there was no tomorrow, to live your lives to the fullest by continuing to help one another, and to be true to yourselves.'

Even before the mourners arrived for the memorial for Jett, reminiscent of Princess Diana's memorial, a constant stream of strangers dropped off cards and flowers outside Jumbolair's gate, from humble bouquets of daisies to a singe red rose, potted tulips and a dozen roses.
