If, 'Twilight' actress Ashley Greene is to be believed, Vanessa Hudgens, 20, 'High School Musical' starlet has auditioned for the role of werewolf Leah Clearwater, Jacob Black's frenemy in 'Twilight', the vampire film.

An enthusiastic Greene enthused she would be happy to co-star with Hudgens and thinks the latter will be great in the role, a perfect foil to Taylor Lautner, reprising his role as werewolf Jacob Black.

A poll on the 'Twilight' blog, as to which actress should play Leah Clearwater, has thrown up both positive and negative comments, with many saying they cannot imagine Hudgens in a mean and aggressive role like that of Leah Clearwater.

Besides casting news, Greene also let slip the script of 'New Moon' is being re-written.
