Dell is all geared up for the launch of its tablet-phone called Streak. Sources reveal that the 5-inch phone will be unveiled at the end of July.
The phone would be launched with Android 1.6; however, the Company has assured that it will later be updated to the 2.2 version, which is called Froyo.
The $500 phone is incompatible with 3G network of T-Mobile. Some details regarding the phone were provided by the Company’s blog.
President of Dell's Communications Solutions business, Ron Garriques revealed that the Company may have an association with a wireless carrier.
The revelation was made at the July 26 post. The Dell blogger, Lionel Menchaca revealed that overall the tablet phone will not be certified for T-Mobile operation.
Menchaca disclosed that the phone is currently available in a carbon color and a new cherry red color is round the corner.
The phone is equipped with a 1GHz Snapdragon processor from Qualcomm. It also has Bluetooth, WiFi and 3G connectivity.
Moreover, Strike would also have support for GPRS, EDGE and UMTS.
Experts are of the view that the phone would not be able to find many customers. The reason behind it is that the phone cannot be pocketed due to its large size.
However, the 5-inch phone may turn out to be a delight for tech-savvy people.
