Amazon inc. has joined hands with world’s most popular social networking site Facebook to roll out a new service wherein the former will be making shopping suggestions based on the choices of the friends of the users.
The new service will peep into the profiles of the users to draw out their shopping choices, including their selections of music and videos.
This is how the service will provide the users with the choices of their friends. Interestingly, the gift suggestions will appear on a separate page introduced by Amazon, carrying the birthdays of friends.
The opt-in service was unveiled on Monday. The service will also keep track of the sites, which the friends regularly access for online shopping.
The suggestion page will be titled as "Tap into Your Facebook Network".
In order to meet the security demands of the users, Facebook will include a warning page for those sharing any information with the friends. This has been done as the accounts will now be exposed to the Amazon developers, as well.
For those who want to disallow the Amazon developers to peep into their Facebook account, they can discontinue the service using "Change Facebook settings" link available at the top of the page.
