The parent company of Blackberry- Research in Motion (RIM) has sent out invites for an event to be organized on August 3. This has left the bloggers and tech journalists all over the world to speculate about the official announcement by the company of BlackBerry OS 6.
Besides the launch of BlackBerry OS 6, the rumors are that the company will also unveil the announcement of Blackberry Bold 9800 that will make its debut by the end of this year.
The excitement about the coincidence of the launch of these two handsets is obvious because the Bold 9800 is termed to be the first BlackBerry phone to run its OS 6.
The smartphone is also called as the Torch 9800 and is similar to the old BlackBerry looks. But the major point of differentiation comes with a vertical slide out keyboard which is similar to the Palm Pre.
The phone will also come equipped with a touchscreen display, 4GB of memory and a 5 megapixel camera.
This is quite interesting as imaging and multimedia has not been the specialization area for Blackberry. This will be quite a special event as even the OS 6, will have an upgraded Operating System as compared to the existing model. But for the real surprise, IT freaks will have to wait until next week.
