Wall’s Plan of MS Treatment Trials Suspected

On Tuesday, Premier Brad Wall declared in the media that he wants Saskatchewan to be the first to make monetary contribution to clinical trials for contentious angioplasty treatment of multiple sclerosis.

The announcement was made by Saskatchewan this week, which stands at funding clinical trials of a novice method that could alleviate the pain of the people suffering from multiple sclerosis. But, the commencement of the procedure will take time, thus, the patients would have to wait.

Mr. Wall desired that other states should also come up and fund such studies, but he was apprehensive about Alberta, as according to him, the officials of Alberta Health and Wellness would consider this act as an emotional play.

Andy Weiler with Alberta Health and Wellness stated that people of the region have lots of hope from the emancipation treatment and they are positive about the same. They also know that they have some conscientiousness towards this effort.

The MS Society of Canada also feels that such more steps should be initiated by other provinces, as well.

Thomas Deering, a 29-year old electrician affected with MS, whose hands have got insensitive, is hopeful about the new treatment.

The critics ridiculed Wall’s idea, as they believe that it would easily elapse. The Canadian Medical Association Journal Editor-in-Chief, Dr. Paul Hebert also raised doubts on the same.
