Pink Hope Patient Support Group Marks Anniversary Yesterday

The HealthCare Global hospital marked the first anniversary of the “Pink Hope Patient Support Group”, the voluntary support association for cancer-affected patients, on Friday.

At the event, Linsey Simpson, Managing Director (MD), India operations of a global news organization, delivered the keynote address. She appeared in a pink sari and pink origami.

She shared her battle against breast cancer three years back while she resided in Tokyo.

"When I was working in Tokyo, I was once sitting with Indian cricketer Kapil Dev at a cancer charity function. He told me that life could change immediately”, she said.

When she visited the doctor for a routine check-up, she was admitted for the diagnosis, as the lump had grown 4.9 cm in size.

She said that it was a revelation for her as she never remained busy in the family affairs and never paid attention towards her health.

She received the support of her husband and two young children.

She developed 3 philosophies calling them “3P's”. The first was not to believe the platitude talks about the disease, second was to prepare herself against any amounts of pains and the third was to avoid the pity of others.
