Many analysts have mocked ITV to be in recuperating stages, following the departure of Michael Grade and the naming of ex-Asda chief Archie Norman as Chairman and Adam Crozier, former head of the Royal Mail, for the chief executive post.
Despite the recently occurred Football World Cup, blockbuster hits such as Britain's Got Talent have proved to be a boost for ITV, extending some momentum to it. However, the Company advertisers can be witnessed to be preparing for another shell out as Britain has managed to get out of the troubling waters of recession.
Advertisements have been successful in improving profits by 20%, as compared to the previous year. As advertising manages to account for three-forth of the ITV's revenues, highlighting the group's robust performance, interim figures compiled by the Company, which were unveiled this week, outlined.
The Company has faced a troublesome period with the emergence of digital, cable and satellite competitors.
In the meanwhile, Norman and Crozier have risen to initiate with a planned review of the group's operations.
“I think that what we will see at ITV is evolution rather than revolution”, quoted Paul Richards, media analyst at Numis Securities.
