With a view to regain its lost market share in the domestic circuit, the market leader in passenger cars will be launching close to five CNG models in the Indian market on a single day.
There is no denying to the fact that the move will bring additional volumes to the door of Maruti but will also widen its portfolio as far as the offerings are concerned. It has been learned that the company will be launching the CNG variants in its best selling Alto, compact cars Estilo and WagonR, multi purpose vehicle Eeco and mid-sized sedan SX4.
While the launch is expected to take place in the second week of August, MSI Chief General Manager (Marketing) Shashank Srivastava said that the CNG models will be very important in the portfolio of the company.
Moreover, Srivastava also pointed out the fact that the company was the first company to come out with factory fitted CNG cars and it will have the first mover's advantage in the market.
In addition to the CNG models, will launch a two new versions of its small car Alto on August 4 with a 1.0 litre K-series engine.
