In order to help the people, who suffered from the floods, two military planes will be sent by Australia to Pakistan.

Almost 1500 people have been killed and at least 12 million people were affected by the two weeks of flooding.

It has been declared by Prime Minister Julia Gillard that the two Royal Australian Air Force C-17 Globemaster aircraft will be sent to Pakistan, this week.

The aircrafts will carry plastic sheeting, generators laden with tents, water purification equipment and birthing kits. Already, $10 million has been committed by Australia to help the victims of flood.

"I want to express the support of the Australian people for the people of Pakistan in the face of the terrible floods they are enduring", Ms. Gillard said in a statement.

Ms. Gillard also said that opposition has agreed to send the assets of Defense Force to Pakistan. Meanwhile, eight Australians were also sent to neighboring India, which has also been affected by the floods and the authorities have no information about the location of those eight Australians.

A spokesperson from Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade said that it has not been confirmed that those people have reached the affected areas or not. However, the Australian High Commission has been continuously making efforts to get in touch with them, but due to communication problems, they couldn't.
