Software Updates for Google Android Phones Backed Down by Vodafone
Vodafone

The phone giant, Vodafone had to provide its customers with software updates for Google Android phones, but it has once again backed down on it. In the previous week also, the HTC Desire smartphone customers were prompted with a software download, which they thought to be an upgrade to Android. But to their surprise, it came out to be an installation of irremovable Vodafone-branded apps and bookmarks, along with some links to the dating sites.

But after a lot many complaints issued by the costumers over this firm, it has now been decided by Vodafone to give an update of the most recent version of Android, with no applications. Also, it has been reported by a spokesperson that a software called Froyo or version 2.2 will be introduced in the market in the next seven to 10 days. And the users will be given an optional download of the firm's apps called Vodafone 360.

For the users of smartphones like Droid Incredible, Droid X, and EVO 4G, this Android 2.2 Froyo will be a great deal. Whereas, about the second optional download, it has been said, “This is an OTA package that will upgrade your phone from the unofficial version of the Android 2.2 release (.3 version) to the final production version (.6 version) will be available this evening”.

This update can be initiated by the users themselves, by going to the ‘HTC Software Update’ in the Settings and then wait for HTC to give the update.
