Study Finds Light Weights Can Also Help Build Muscles
Study Finds Light Weights Can Also Help Build Muscles

There is a piece of good news for people who want to build big muscles and who work out regularly in gyms by lifting heavy weights. A new Canadian study has revealed that lifting lighter weights for a long period of time is more effective in building muscles than lifting heavy weights.

The study found that you should keep exercising till you reach a fatigue point. It is more important to lift weights for a longer period of time rather than lifting heavier amounts of weight.

The results of this study were also confirmed by Professor Stuart Phillips of McMaster University where this research study was conducted.

Professor Phillips pointed that it is more important to lift weights till a person reaches a stage where he cannot lift weights anymore. He stressed that it is important to lift weights to increase muscles and it also helps to build additional muscle protein that can lead to the accumulation of muscles in the body over a period of time.

People who took part in the study lifted lighter weights than they could normally lift while exercising. They were able to lift weights between five to ten times before getting tired.

The results of this study has excited a lot of medical experts and will have a significant impact on people with weak muscles including the elder, sick people or patients recovering from a severe medical trauma.
