60th annual Concours d’Elegance was celebrated, on the tribal eve of which, the most affluent and solemn vintage car collectors had gathered. On this eve, billionaires and millionaires from across the world fly and gather at the venue in a hope to get crowned. It is acknowledged to be just similar to the Crufts Kennel Club Championship where a Scottish terrier is identified ‘Best in Show’.
But, Keith Bowley, an automobile restorer from the Cotswolds, said that it’s not so! ‘One is besotted’ here on this occasion. Mr. Bowley expressed his views while he was preoccupied with a limited-edition $2.5 million Bugatti Veyron 16.4 Super Sport, which was a sparkling rock star in the middle of the gathering.
The Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance classic car celebration took place on Sunday.
Besides this, a ‘living wall’ had been featured by Yokohama, which is claimed to be natural and eco-friendly and had been put up for promotional display. It said that it’ll be used at the first tee on the golf course.
Takao Oishi, Yokohama’s President and CEO, said that they had always been working on something that can help the environment and produce minimum waste.
He added, “The living wall provides us a perfect opportunity. It is a fresh, natural and visually dynamic way to have a display, and the breathtaking Pebble Beach Concours is the ideal setting for it. It will really fit in with the pristine surroundings”.
On this Concours, or famously known as Pebble, California car culture is celebrated by those people who can manage to acquire, restore and immaculately maintain a 1936 Alfa Romeo or a 1938 Jaguar SS100 Roadster converge, on the grassy 18th fairway.
