Symantec Corp. launches Norton Antivirus 2009 Gaming Edition

Symantec Corp., a global leader in providing security, storage and systems management solutions has launched Norton AntiVirus 2009 Gaming Edition, a new offering designed specifically with the gaming community in mind.

The Norton AntiVirus 2009 Gaming Edition is specially designed for gaming and is likely to use 80% less memory as compared with other antivirus software.

An official release stated that this edition permit users to set “Gamers Mode” which will suspend the entire update download and anti virus alerts, thus not interrupting user gaming experience and the system will still be protected from attacks. The protection includes viruses, spyware, worms, trojans, bots and web sites that may have virus.

Starting today, Norton AntiVirus 2009 Gaming Edition is available in the U.S market as well as exclusively on the Symantec online store at www.symantecstore.com at a retail price of $39.99.

The software package includes a one-year service subscription along with product updates.
